SUMMARY:FOREST BATHING FOR ADULTS | IRENE BAILEY $25
DESCRIPTION:SUNDAY 10AM-12PM – LOCATION: MEET AT INFORMATION TENT NEAR THE PAVILION TO CARPOOL \nWhile offering a renewed sense of interconnection with the natural world\, forest bathing also allows access to beneficial nervous system states that can support long-term health and well-being. Research has proven that forest bathing boosts immune strength\, improves cognitive functioning\, and reduces stress\, anger\, anxiety\, depression and sleeplessness. Offered through a series of guided invitations\, the walk will help participants move beyond the busy mind and open to a deeper sense of connection with the natural world. By being present and opening our senses\, we will intimately explore the abundance of mushrooms. Adults only. \nAbout the speaker: Irene Elle Bailey is a designer and facilitator of nature connection and mindfulness offerings that support the remembering that we are intimately and inseparably connected to all life. Over the past 20 years\, she has worked with numerous environmental and sustainability education programs. She is the founder and director of Temenos Rising where she shares retreats\, workshops\, forest bathing walks\, and mentorship\, all held in deep relationship with the natural world. Irene holds an MS in Leadership for Sustainability Education from Portland State University and is a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy.

SUMMARY:OUTDOOR MUSHROOM GARDENING | JACK THOMPSON $40
DESCRIPTION:SUNDAY 11AM-1PM – LOCATION: ADOBE RESORT LAWN \nLearn how to set up an outdoor mushroom garden with mushroom spawn. \nAbout the speaker: Jack Thompson’s fascination with fungi began over a decade ago when he moved to the central Oregon coast and discovered the astonishing diversity of local species. His passion quickly evolved into a love for cultivation. Driven by curiosity\, Jack questioned why most mushroom cultivation happens indoors\, detached from nature\, rather than in harmony with it. Since then\, he’s dedicated himself to making outdoor cultivation more accessible and achievable for everyone.

SUMMARY:BEGINNER-INTERMEDIATE WALK | MATTHEW JOHNSON
DESCRIPTION:SUNDAY 2:30-3:45PM – LOCATION: CAPE PERPETUA VISITOR’S CENTER\nMatthew Johnson: I first became interested in mushrooms in the mid-80’s. Around 1989\, I was fortunate enough to take the Mushroom Biology class from Freeman Rowe at Lane Community College. Since that time I have helped set up and organize the Mt. Pisgah Mushroom show\, founded by Freeman. (34 years!) You can find me in the “Poisonous and Edible” booth during the show. I have been involved with the Cascade Mycological Society (CMS) since it’s inception and I am currently the Vice President and Field Trip Coordinator. I lead several mushroom field trips for members each year and I have been doing the same at the Yachats mushrooms show since 2007 (16 years). My wife\, a former CMS president\, and I are attorneys in Eugene and our teen daughter is a high school senior and a sometimes mushroom enthusiast.
